Symptom: Blank screen/LCD has no power

 

UNAVI Technical Guide Checklist

When technical support inquiry is received regarding a blank screen or no LCD display, follow the guideline below and record the problem with detailed information as possible:

Example 1 – LCD screen turns off during normal operation; proceed with RA

Example 2 – System does not boot and no sound from the radio

 

Procedural Checklist

1. LCD turns off during normal operation? Does screen turn on when booting up?

2. If LCD turns off during operation, does it turn off when using a specific feature or audio mode?

3. If LCD turns off during operation, does it occur within the same time frame?

4. If LCD turns off during operation, does it occur if any of the touch screen buttons are pressed?

5. Any sound from radio through factory speakers? (Use steering wheel control to check radio status)

6. If screen does not turn on during boot-up, does it turn on after pressing the RESET button?

7. Number of occurrences: (1, 2, 7, etc.)


NOTES

  • If there are no sound from the factory radio, check fuses and power cables.

  • If the radio is functioning normally but the LCD is still blank, try disconnecting the negative (-) terminal of the car battery for about 30 minutes and restart the system.

  • Use GROUND wire located on the SMART cable to ground it to the vehicle chassis frame.

  • Inspect for any peeled off cable sheath and/or damaged outer insulation; if insulation is damaged please use electrical tape to repair insulation and see if problem persists
