Tucson Integration Issues

Integration problems that surface after integrating Unavi system into a Hyundai Tucson

Symptom:

We are currently receiving reports surfacing from a small number of Tucson vehicles where the 5V issue does not go away after changing out the standard T-harness with a specially made T-harness that contains a 5V capacitor. Symptoms include CD getting stuck despite no physical blockage, Random Bluetooth commands, and possibly even a hissing sound when using an iPod (although more rare then other two issues).

ATTEMPT THIS FIX BEFORE SHORT TERM SOLUTIONS

  • Please cut the wire on the Unavi supplied T-Harness as pictured. This should fix the above issues but if it does not you may use the supplied workarounds. Please let us know that you are experiencing this problem so we can get all your symptoms and data. This will allow us to get back to you when a solution has been discovered AND get any new information that you may have come across that can help to get this solved quicker.
  • Pin 6 from back of radio side of Unavi T-Harness
  • NOTE: This solution will only work if you have a 5-volt T-harness that has two built-in capacitors. If you do not have the 5V cable or have any questions about this please call.

Short-term solutions until a permanent solution can be given:

    1. For CD stuck or not ejecting:

  • First make sure that there is nothing blocking the system. At times the system will give a whirring as if the system is attempting to eject the CD but nothing is coming out.
  • If this is the problem as described go under the vehicle hood and disconnect the neg(-) terminal from the battery
  • Let the system run its charge for around 30 seconds then reconnect
  • The player should now be able to get the CD removed from the system. At this time it is advised that you do not attempt to put another CD in until this problem can be resolved.
  • If this does not fix this issue, please call us so we can advise you further.

    2. For random Bluetooth commands:

  • Please make sure that the Bluetooth button is not being depressed
  • After ensuring there is in fact an issue with the system the only work around at this time is to turn the Bluetooth off.
  • To do this you will need to go to the Setup menu in the radio interface; then using the tuning button below the setup button keep clicking tune until PHONE is highlighted.
  • Finally keeping clicking the TUNE buttons until you get the the option to turn Bluetooth OFF.
  • If the Bluetooth still gives you random commands please give us a call and we will further advise you on this problem.
